| Summer Recital 1998 |

The 'Summer Recital' given by David and Gillian on 15th August 1998 included arias, songs and ballads in a variety of styles, from the lovely motet 'Exsultate, Jubilate' (W A Mozart) to a segue of songs from the ever-popular 'My Fair Lady' (Frederic Loewe).
In addition to Mozart and Loewe, other selections for the programme included arias from the oratorio repertoire by Vivaldi and Haydn, chansons by Duparc, Satie and Poulenc, lieder by Schumann and ballads by Gershwin. |

In the programme notes, the Little Soprano writes: 'Choosing songs and arias for inclusion in a recital is always difficult because there is usually so much to choose from - it is hard to know where to start! It can sometimes take me as long as two months before I finally arrive at a programme with which I am happy'.
