Women’s Chorus – NEWS UPDATE!

For women in Rugby and its surrounding villages -Women’s Chorus.

NEWS UPDATE: The next Women’s Chorus’ meeting will be on Tuesday February 28th at the usual place, Friend’s Meeting House, 28 Regent Place, Rugby, CV21 2PN from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. I am still keen to hear from ladies who might be interested in joining us, so please do get in touch if you feel tempted. The Women’s Chorus is open to all female voices, irrespective of previous vocal experience.

Repertoire/songs will depend to some extent on membership numbers. I will build programmes of music for the future based on what I know of the general ability and desires of the group. This could be anything from Bach to The Beatles, with or without backings, with an accompanist or without. Everything starts from who wants to belong to the Women’s Chorus and what their strengths might be and the overall collective sound.

Fees: First two hour rehearsal you attend will cost £15, which includes an annual membership fee of £5. Each subsequent rehearsal will cost £10. The number of rehearsals will not initially exceed 5 per academic term, unless in the future, performance dates dictate differently where more rehearsal time might be necessary. All such arrangements will be mutually agreed. Women’s Chorus members are free to invite friends who may be interested in joining.

Next year, as membership numbers continue to grow, I hope to set up a number of small cluster rehearsal groups, perhaps in outlying villages as well as more central localities, giving busy women the option of finding a suitable, nearby group to join. In the longterm, I envisage all groups coming together for larger projects to form one voice – the Women’s Chorus.

Send me an email if you would like like to join, giving me your contact details. Just scroll down to link to my email address. Tell me about your interest and your experience.
